M2TD expands its internship and learnership programmes
We are proud to be expanding our innovative internship and learnership programmes

We are proud to be expanding our innovative internship and learnership programmes to equip even more young people with the hi-tech skills necessary to be successful in this competitive and rapidly changing field. The objectives of the two programmes are firstly to promote youth empowerment through skills development and, secondly, to create a skills pool that will benefit not only the company but the industry as a whole.

Following our application to the Services Seta last year, we have been granted funding for 12 internships in network security, project management, finance, human resources and public relations. We have also been awarded a discretionary grant to fund 100 learnerships in the Gauteng, North West and Limpopo provinces.

The internship programme is intended to give recent graduates an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-moving, professional environment. The role of interns at M2TD is not to run errands and make coffee, but to fully immerse themselves in every aspect of the business and to learn as much as they can about it. In this way, they are not only able to gain experience, develop their skills and beef up their CVs, but also to build strong industry networks that will stand them in good stead in their future careers. The programme also helps them to identify specific areas of interest in which they may wish to specialise.

“Data management and security is a complex field and is developing at an exponential rate,” says CEO, David Matshane. “It is vital to both innovation and sustainability that new talent is nurtured all the time, and we’re delighted to be able to play a part in this important process. From a business perspective, our leadership position is strategically leveraged off strong technical expertise, so our skills development programmes are aimed not only at empowering qualifying candidates, but also at securing our company’s long-term market position.”

The learnership programme, which is run in tandem with the internship programme, enables participants to study towards a National Diploma in Public Management and Administration, a qualification that has broad application across a number of different industries and sectors. It is intended to open doors for promising candidates with a good matric qualification and a passionate interest in contributing to the country’s development goals.
